SSH was appointed Lead Design Consultant of a new mixed-use development covering an area of 750,000 sqm in Marrakech, Morocco. The new project features both five-star hospitality and unparalleled luxury residentialal properties, including golf-branded villas and apartments. Residents and visitors alike can experience this exclusive enclave surrounded by captavating mountain views. The hospitality component will include a luxurious St. Regis Resort Hotel, offering 60 guest rooms, 20 villas, a ballroom, conference centre, restaurants and other leisure facilities, as well as separate branded villas. The residential component will comprise standard as well as twin villas, whereas the retail element will include variously-sized apartment units, shops and a sports academy. My main role on this project was to help devlop DD packages for the client as well as amend technical drawings.
Located in Al Ula Saudi Arabia, for the Saudi Royal Family. Al-Ula offers historic monuments spanning generations and civilizations. Notably, it is also home to Madain Saleh, the first Saudi site to be nominated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Surrounded by breathtaking natural beauty, the eight-week extravaganza titled “Winter at Tantora” will offer festival-goers a once-in-a lifetime experience that includes culturally themed heritage events, a spectacular equestrian experience, and a celebration of the winter planting season. The project consisted of a large mirrored concert hall which was the focal point of the event along with a variance of short stay residences that provided the up-most luxury whilst giving the impression of a desert settlement. My main role within this project was to generate 3D models and render views whilst coordinating with landscape and implementing architectural changes.
Located in Abu Dhabi directly opposite the Yas Marina Island hotel. The site was awkwardly shaped and called for innovation and aesthetic prowess given its exposure. Brodway Malyan were appointed by Aldar to deliver a building with the main drivers being cost and efficiency as well as artistic application. Working on this project my main objectives were to work directly under the lead architect in designing this building. I had an extremely big part in the design of this building and modelled countless design options for all facets of the project. I would piece together design packages and liaise with the client and sub contractors in order to progress the design. The project is on going and looks to be a flagship Aldar building - the same team requested by Aldar for continued work.
Located in Muscat Oman, The Mandarin Orient Hotel is a development that will welcome guests to its 150 guest rooms and suites, five restaurants and bars, as well as the Spa at Mandarin Oriental. Guests may also enjoy spectacular views of the Oman Sea from a ballroom that was designed with their experience in mind. The project also consists of 155 Residences that will feature some of the most select private apartments in the capital ranging from 75 to 260 square metres. Coupled with the hotel in the same architectural language the residential buildings accentuate and exploite the projects prowess in its entirety. SSH were commissioned by Eagle Hills to further develop this project from concept. The project is still on going and looks to be another gem within Mandarin Oriental Hotel groups illustrious portfolio. My main role within this project was to assist and develop drawings for tender, making design changes to the revit model and coordinate between other disciplines.
Listed Building Consent was granted for the re-modelling of the existing Upper and Lower flats for a Montagu Square 5 Storeys Grade 2 Listed property, in Marylebone Portman Estate Conservation Area. The refurbishment of the Lower Ground level followed after historical loading bearing walls were removed to space up the Open Plan Kitchen and Living Room. My main role within this project was to create and model design instances for the project as well as provide design solutions for the layout. I would report directly to the senior architect and concentrate on delivering the desired bespoke asthetic the stuido and project wished to reflect.
Located in Dubai, Dubai Creek Harbour is a major project in the emirates development and looks to encompass the next tallest building in the world in the form of The Dubai Creek Tower. Broadway Malyan were appointed to work on phases 1 and 2 in order to deliver over 1000 units with the main drivers being cost and efficiency. My role within this project was to work under the lead architect producing packages and design options in order to fulfil the ambitions of the client Emaar. I would produce design instances and renders from entire buildings and site wide renders of smaller aspects including landscaping and MEP blocks. Phase 1 is nearing completion and phase 2 is still on going at present.
Located in Al Jalila Dubai for the Dubai Health Authority, Al Jalila is a dedicated 200 bed Children’s Hospital with the highest International standards, in order to realize the best hospital in the Middle East region providing excellent healthcare by well-qualified and competent professionals, in response to children needing specialized care within the UAE. My main role throughout this project was to review drawings from the IFC package highlight errors and report them back to Studio Altieri.
Located in the Southeast of Italy Villa Morgicchio was personally commissioned by a private client who requested Soloarte design an ideal holiday makers retreat. Set on nearly 2 hectares of land, their vision was to create a 6 bedroom villa reflecting the local surroundings with distinctly modern interior elements. My main role within this project as a part I architect, was to visualise and produce design instances for this villa in support of the senior architect. I would create bespoke furniture art work and architectural design for render in order to capture the unique nature the villa and firm wanted to reflect. Villa Morgicchio was completed on schedule and in accordance with the clients budget.
Located in Abu Dhabi on Al Reem Island. The new development accommodates 55000 residents and has approximately one million square feet of open space and associated recreational amenities. Aldar appointed Broadway Malyan to develop a section of the park focusing on food and beverage units and the board-walk leading from drop off to the ocean beach. My main tasks on this project meant I was heavily involved in the design both in conception and unit development. My tasks involved producing design packages in order to progress the project with the client, as well as visualising and placing personal design influence over major aspects within the project.
Located in central Dubai in the prominent City Walk area, La Ville Hotel owned by the Marriott group delivers 86 rooms, with 68 serviced apartments. Woods Bagot were appointed in 2013 to undertake preparation for construction. My role within this project was more on the construction side, I worked directly under the design manager for Al Futtaim Carillion and liaised on a regular basis with the site architect. My main role throughout this project was reviewing drawings in the aim of flagging drawing errors and reporting them back to Woods Bagot. I would also meet with the client and sub contractors in order to progress the project.
Situated on the west side of Yas Island and north-east of the Yas Links Golf Course, Ansam contains low rise, medium density apartments with excellent community facilities and local retail outlets, all integrated with garden-style public areas that grant magnificent views of the Yas Links Golf Course. The development features 12 Andalusian-style buildings, comprising 576 units, overlooking the Yas Links golf course and the Yas Island waterfront. Each building has a landscaped setting, with amenities including barbecue areas, infinity pools, kids’ pools, gyms, and multi-purpose halls to host indoor functions. The retail element is centrally located comprising of local shops. My tasks involved producing 3D models and design variations for the retail and residential elements, along with 2D drawings of the project for technical and DD submission pacakges. (Broadway Malyan)
